Etsy has instituted stricter platform guidelines by explicitly banning AI-generated recipes and craft patterns on its online marketplace. Alongside this restriction, the e-commerce giant barred sellers from creating completely automated bot-generated listings that lack human involvement. These policy adjustments aim to preserve the artisan and handcrafted ethos that defines the platform's brand identity. The move comes as online marketplaces grapple with an influx of low-quality, automated content generated by advanced artificial intelligence tools. By enforcing human oversight requirements, Etsy seeks to protect consumer trust and maintain product quality standards. Sellers must now adapt their inventory practices to comply with the updated terms of service.
