The Solana ecosystem has introduced a permanent 1 SOL fee for submitting security bug reports to address an overwhelming surge of automated spam. The measure was enacted after a monthlong vulnerability contest attracted 809 reports, the vast majority of which were believed to be generated by artificial intelligence tools. Security teams found themselves inundated with repetitive and low-quality submissions that severely drained human review resources. By requiring researchers to permanently burn 1 SOL per report, the network aims to filter out noise while maintaining incentives for legitimate vulnerability disclosures.
