The United Kingdom government has authorized the deployment of Royal Air Force fighter jets to help defend Saudi Arabian cities from incoming Houthi drone and missile strikes. Officials stressed that the military assets will be utilized exclusively for defensive interceptor missions and will not participate in offensive operations. This strategic move is designed to safeguard regional stability and protect critical infrastructure from ongoing conflict spillovers. The intervention underscores deepening security ties between London and Riyadh amid persistent security challenges in the Middle East. Markets are closely monitoring the situation for potential spillover effects on regional stability and global energy corridors. The deployment also highlights the ongoing military burden-sharing between Western allies and Gulf states.
