BioNTech and Bristol Myers Squibb jointly announced encouraging global Phase 2 clinical trial results for Pumitamig in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The trial evaluated Pumitamig combined with docetaxel in individuals who experienced disease progression following prior immunotherapy and chemotherapy regimens. Results demonstrated a confirmed objective response rate of 36.7% across both squamous and non-squamous patient cohorts regardless of PD-L1 expression levels. Furthermore, the combination therapy exhibited an encouraging early median progression-free survival profile in this heavily pre-treated population. These clinical findings suggest a potential new therapeutic avenue for patients with limited remaining treatment options. Both pharmaceutical partners plan to advance the clinical development program toward late-stage pivotal trials.
