This structured product is intended to appeal to risk-averse institutional investors seeking defined-outcome exposure to digital assets without enduring the full brunt of market drawdowns. The filing expands BlackRock's existing cryptocurrency ETF lineup, which already includes standard spot Bitcoin and Ether products. Notably, the firm has yet to file for similar exchange-traded funds tracking alternative layer-1 tokens such as Solana or XRP.
